This book is a documentary about Köln in the 80s, when my hometown suddenly became the center
of the art world. It is mainly based around the legen-
dary magazine SPEX — Musik zur Zeit and it’s protagonists and foundation members, who I inter-
viewed. The first and the last part contains cut out,
copied and pasted pieces from the magazine. In the middle you will find the main part with the texts and the interviews followed by an extra edition containing photos of selected covers of the first SPEX’s.
